About

Dale Rhose is a rock band from Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. The current band formed in May 2023 under the name You Guys before playing their first live show in July of that same year. Since then, they have played all around the Philadelphia suburbs and surrounding counties. In June 2024, the band officially changed their name to Dale Rhose to lead them into their new direction of creating original music.

The band consists of drummer Sheamus Sweeney and his brother Kellan Sweeney on bass, Jordan Kahny on rhythm guitar, and Charlie Hug on lead guitar and vocals. Charlie and the Sweeney brothers began playing together in 2020 and soon formed a band with fellow Sweeney brother, Danny, and their cousin Michael Santangelo called “The Sweeney’s” in 2021. It was not until two years later that Jordan Kahny would join the band and the four members would create what would become the foundation of You Guys - a play on the absence of a name and people asking what “you guys” are called. Upon copyright issues that would conflict with a release of original music, the band decided on the new name Dale Rhose in 2024, paying homage to the street that the Sweeneys and Hug grew up on - Dale Road - as well as Randy Rhodes, one of Charlie’s biggest guitar influences.

The band focuses on covers from every era of rock music, with their sound being deeply rooted in the ‘90s grunge/alternative era. With Hug and Sheamus Sweeney switching off lead vocals throughout shows, the group is able to touch on decades’ worth of covers, including crowd favorites such as “Hotel California” and “Mr. Brightside.” Dale Rhose’s original music is derived from a similar mix of influences, with Hug’s classic rock background meshing with the 90’s grunge influences of Kahny and the punk and hard rock mix of the Sweeneys. They aim to blend these influences into a sound that transcends any genre and rather makes it their own, which has garnered a great reception from crowds with songs such as “Take Me Away,” “Parasite,” and “Secrets.” The band has been in the studio throughout the summer of 2024 with hopes of releasing original music by the end of the year.
